The kitchen remodel was needed for this beautiful home overlooking the Willamette Valley. They had several other designers or contractors in to design the new space. The other designers came in with elaborate plans that involved removing walls and adding several new windows. The home owners were very clear they want to keep existing space and they don't want any more windows, because they want any more to clean :)
The dark cabinets were chosen first for this remodel. We usually like clients to choose their cabinetry first so we design around them. We created a custom appliance garage with horizontal cabinets and the counter top extends into the cabinet so they can pull out their appliance and clean with ease. The existing peninsula was removed to create a better flow and more work space. Two pull out pantries were added for food storage. The refrigerator was completely relocated to maximize work space.
New white and stainless appliances were installed. White appliances are timeless. A double bowl under mount 33 inch krauss sink and new faucet were installed. Krauss sinks are a great price with great features like thick 16 gauge stainless steel and sound dampeners.
Glass subway tile was installed from Pental in Portland Oregon. Pental quartz counter tops were also installed.
Devine Burr Oak flooring was installed. The client was nervous about using this color and a vinyl plank flooring
but now they love it.
