This Oregon IKEA kitchen remodel was started because of the poor planning from the previous owners.  The existing unusable peninsula was ineffective and stopped the flow of the kitchen.  All new IKEA appliances where added.  The stainles Praktful stove really makes an impression when you walk in the front door.   We made a movable using IKEA cabinets and custom made wheels.  The island can be for prep or used as an eating surface with the 14" overhang on one side.  Butcher block was used on the island is a great way to be cost effective and is also very rich  looking. Under counter lighting helped get light in the room.  The charcoal paint was used to define the kitchen area while complimenting the rest of the house.
